Condominiums

McPherson Place

ENERGY SAVINGS = 25, 711 | $PAYBACK TIME = 1.5 years

  • Retrofitted 130 existing fixtures in parkade to LED type B ballast bypass lamps. Recertified fixtures for CSA compliance.
  • Recycled all old ballasts and fluorescent lamps appropriately.
  • Installed bi-level dimming motion sensor fixtures in stairwell, mechanical room and parkade elevator lobby.
  • Installed a properly zoned occupancy sensor system in the parkade. Installed wire guards on sensors to protect the system from vandalism.
  • Retrofitted all hallway pot lights to ballast-free LED plug lamps.
  • Install surge suppression on 208V lighting panel.

Commercial

Solara

ENERGY SAVINGS = 25, 711 | $PAYBACK TIME = 1.5 years

  • Retrofit completed on a total of 325 fixtures across 3 parkades, laundry room, loading dock and miscellaneous rooms to type B ballast bypass LED tubes and recertify fixtures to meet CSA standard 22.20.250.
  • Designed, installed and optimized a zonal occupancy sensing system into the parkade to maximize energy efficiency and increase life expectancy of the lamps.
  • Installed bi-level dimming motion sensor fixtures in all stairwells, and installed additional new matching fixtures and 6” wafer lights to increase light levels in areas with poor lighting.
  • Retrofitted/replaced/installed new LED fixtures in select back of house rooms, service hallways and staff areas to increase light levels and reduce energy consumption.
  • Added motion sensors to pool area so that majority of lighting will be activated only when motion is detected, and replaced obsolete fixtures above pool with more modern light fixtures.

Industrial

OPSCO Process Corp.

  • Replaced 31 obsolete wall pack fixtures and 50 high bay fixtures with new energy efficient LED fixtures in the OPSCO shop space.
  • Supplied and installed new explosion proof lighting in the sandblasting and paint bay at OPSCO.
  • This included using both 100W wall-mounted and 200W ceiling-mounted fixtures, as well as explosion proof fittings to ensure rating is maintained.
  • Installed surge suppression on 347/600V lighting panel located in the main shop.

Outdoor Lighting

Stonewater

  • Removed old bollards and repoured damaged and below grade concrete bases.
  • Pulled new conduit and circuits where needed into new concrete bases as several circuits were exposed to water when damaged bollards were removed by previous electrician.
  • Supplied, installed and levelled new bollards.
  • Performed emergency repairs to irrigation system as the lines were unmarked on site plans.
  • Returned landscaping and gravel areas to their original condition once the bollard replacements were completed.

Commercial

Public Storage

  • Retrofit completed on all fluorescent light fixtures to ballast bypass LED lamps in hallways of 4 storage buildings.
  • Recertified all retrofitted fixtures to ensure compliance with CSA requirements.
  • Repaired/replaced failed emergency lighting battery units and tested all remote heads for proper function.

Industrial

Pactiv

  • Replaced existing 400W HID warehouse lighting with high efficiency LED high bay fixtures.
  • Relocated 10% of fixtures to achieve ideal lighting conditions (racking creates shadows).
  • Added motion sensors to 90% of fixtures to further increase energy savings and increase fixture lifetime rating by 10-15 years.
  • Retrofitted old fluorescent lighting in offices and auxiliary rooms to maximize energy savings while reducing costs by reusing existing fixtures.
  • Installed surge suppression on 600V panel to protect new investment and other expensive operating equipment.
